Peak Ballet offers ballet lessons for children of all ages in the Southern Peak District at Wirksworth Memorial Hall and Middleton Village Hall.
Peak Ballet follows the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance which focus on creativity and musicality. Lessons offer local children the best possible opportunity to study ballet in a friendly, supportive and safe environment.
For the child wishing to complete exams, the RAD offers a wide range of assessments designed to motivate and reward students of all ages and abilities. RAD exams are recognised by Ofqual and contribute to UCAS points.
Peak Ballet offers ballet lessons for adult beginners and improvers in a mature and friendly environment. Peak Ballet also offers Silver Swans classes (Matlock, Mayfield and Belper), developed by the Royal Academy of Dance for older learners.
All adult classes are structured to incorporate learning the fundamentals of basic ballet technique whilst providing a fun way of keeping fit to inspiring music. There are many benefits of learning ballet including toning of muscles, increasing core strength, improving posture and flexibility, not to mention using the old grey matter to literally think on your feet!
We have welcomed new dancers to our adult community and successfully started a new class called Serene Swans - a shorter and calmer version of Silver Swans!
I am looking forward to dancing with all our young dancers, Silver and Serene Swans and adult dancers into 2025!
